Coping Children With Ever-Growing Technology
With the considerable technological development, it seems that the world is knocking our doors. Undoubtedly, the ever-growing progress in technology can bring more information as well as education opportunities for children. For instance interactive video games, TV or Internet can be a great source of entertainment and information, if utilized in a good manner.
Unfortunately children are becoming habituated to excessive use of these technologies and eventually resulting in unhealthy side affects. Thus, without wasting even a second, parents should immediately take action. It would be immensely beneficial for the children to limit the time they are spending on Internet, video games, or TV.
According to some researchers, spending a lot of time in front of TV would also result in obesity! The logic behind watching TV and obesity is that Children spending a lot of time in front of TV, and no utilization of the energy created within the body.
You should immediately take some significant steps to prevent all unhealthy practices. You must check, how much time your child is spending in front of TV, video game or Internet.
Make sure that your child is not spending great amount of time by sitting in front of TV. He/she must minimize inactivity. Recommend your child to do some physical exercise, such as make him/her to bring a glass of water or arrange his/her bag etc.
It would be advisable to gradually minimize long inactive sessions in front of TV, Internet or Video games and involve him/her in some other activities, such as dancing, playing or walking etc.
TV and Internet are undoubtedly the most informative sources of information. This effectively aids stimulating child's imagination and enhances his/her communication. Thus, you must not ban your child completely from watching TV, as it would be a drastic step. On the contrary, you can take some suggestive measures:
- Place the TV in the living room or some other place. Don't place it in the bedroom.
- Make TV watching a family event and switch to programs suitable for everyone.
- During meal times, turn off TV, Internet or video games.
- If the children spend considerable amount of time outside, then it is good for them. Moreover, they will learn the art of making friends and will remain physically active and healthy forever.
