Make More Money Knowing What Makes People Buy

It truly doesn't matter what niche you've chosen, developing a properly marketed website will play a major role in sales success and converting on lookers in to potential buyers.

It's estimated that over 6.5 billion people currently utilize the Internet worldwide. Even if you're using targeted traffic initiatives, such as Google AdWords to drive traffic to your website, only a very small percentile will actually consider completing the sale, or let alone finish reading the first sentence.

What are some quick ways instantly improve your chances of making the sale?

1. Understand how people view a web page. The human eye naturally reads from left to right, top to bottom. You will want to create something that really catches the eye on the home page of the website, but make sure that it also corresponds with the over all theme. Knowing the boundaries is also crucial, you really don't want to go over board, as it can actually deter a vast amount of potential buyers. You will need to keep a professional look to the website, as well as effectively catching the eye and spiking interest in reading further in to the content. Eye catching color schemes and logo can be a great first step, but it does get much more intricate than that. Rich content will keep the visitor reading. The longer that reader stays on the website to read the product descriptions, the more chance you will have of a sale, or at least a sign up, which you can then utilize to send newsletters.

2. Keep it easy and simple. People are getting tired of running through a flooded Internet and having to use a map to find what they're looking for. If the potential customer stumbles upon an attractive looking website that's relatively easy to use, it will increase your chances of converting a sale and possibly even keep them coming back for more. E-commerce can be easy for customers and some of the tools currently available really over weigh their potential of benefits.

3. Use testimonials. Many use fake testimonials, this is not the route to go, as most look absolutely ridiculous and stick out like a sore thumb. It's quite clear that these are testimonials created by the company. Testimonials may not be available initially, but as you have to build clientele and get feedback on your products or services, but offer an incentive to leave a testimonial, such as a monetary credit of some kind towards the website if you feature the testimonial. With the Internet so wide open to scam artists and products that do not correspond with the description, seeing real people that have tried your product and have vouched for it can help your potential customers build instant rapport without even speaking with you.

4. Create a promotion. Something like "30% Off, Today Only!" in big bold letters will automatically catch the eye. You may want to consider offering a monthly promotion so that you always have a "deal". Target specific products (if you carry more than one) and you will have a lot to play with.

5. Be competitive in pricing. Nothing will get a potential buyer to leave your website after catching their attention than price gouging. Make sure you know who your competition is and keep within a relative proximity to their price points. Pricing isn't everything, but you do want to stay within a certain range.
