Buying WoW Gold - Is it Ethical?

Obviously, buying wow gold has its benefits over spending hours at a time farming or working at whatever your occupation may be, to try to earn and save enough gold so that you have the funds you need to purchase spells, weapons, tools, or anything else for that matter. It can save one hours of playing as many players simply dont have the patience or the time that is needed to earn enough wow gold and be successful in battles when playing World of Warcraft. Another added benefit of purchasing wow gold over trying to earn it yourself is that wow gold is sold for relatively inexpensive amounts and can be bought instantly from a reliable 3rd party web site or business. These companies will send over wow gold very quickly after payment is made so you can get what you need without having to wait for a few days for the gold to arrive. At most web sites where World of Warcraft gold is sold, you simply select your server and tell them which player to send the gold to. Once the payment is made, you can log in to WOW and see the gold in your account. With the speed of the Internet today the process of buying and trading wow gold is almost instantaneous.

However, there are many negative aspects and risks involved with buying wow gold. First of all, many of the games millions of members frown upon it and regard buying gold as unethical and cheating. After all, you are simply just paying for something that other players worked for hours on end to achieve. They feel that those who purchase wow gold are not playing World of Warcraft the right way and simply taking advantage of the situation and should be punished. The World of Warcraft moderators and administrators takes the act of buying gold from a 3rd party site rather than earning it yourself very seriously and if you are caught, your account is subject to termination with no refund. Be sure to think about that before you spend even more money on extra wow gold.

There are clearly two sides to this controversial WOW subject. Is buying wow gold ethical and should it be practiced? Well, it is clear that buying wow gold is not ethical and even against the World of Warcrafts Terms of Service. Even though it makes things that much more convenient and easy, at the end of the day, it is against the games rules and there are serious consequences if you are caught purchasing wow gold.

The Bottom Line: Despite the convenience and appeal of spending a few extra bucks through a secure web site to purchase World of Warcraft Gold and save hours of hard work, I strongly recommend that you steer clear of this method of obtaining gold and play the game it was meant to be played. This may not be the answer that many of you were hoping for and personally, it does not matter to me whether you purchase wow gold or not. (Its continent and lets face it, not everyone has the time to spend hours each day playing WOW) However, you do not want to get your account banned and waste the money and time you have already put into the game so I suggest you be safe rather than sorry in this situation and not purchase wow gold.

SEO Technology - It is More Than Just Keywords

The basics of SEO technology centers around finding high traffic keywords that can get you listed in search engines and found by those looking for the information you are providing. Even though a good keyword or keyword phrases can be key there is more to it than just plunking in some words and getting traffic.

Understanding how to use these words and phrases within your SEO technology implementations can make a difference between lots of site visitors and a stagnant site with no visitors. Knowing who is your competition and what they are doing to gain traffic can provide a valuable advantage in the online marketplace. The amazing thing these days is the available software technology that allows even the most novice user to start experimenting with SEO technology and understanding how to begin driving visitors to your website or blog.

These software tools are almost like a competition spy tool that allows anyone to break down a competitors site to see how they are getting ranked in search engines and thus driving visitors to their site. You can also monitor your traffic, competitor traffic as well as who is linking to your site.

Knowing who is linking to your site is an often overlooked but critical component to search engine rankings. Have high ranking relevant sites providing links to yours can be extremely beneficial. On the other side having sites that are not in favor of top search engines can have a very adverse effect on your rankings. All of these components play a very important role in your online marketing efforts and each one can have a dramatic impact on success or failure.

The great thing these days is that no longer do people have to pay SEO technology "experts" thousands of dollars in order to begin gaining site visitors. Some of the new software packages are extremely affordable and easy for anyone to begin using.

If you would like more information about the use of SEO technology and the software available for use online in marketing efforts you can visit a great resource blog at:

GameBoy Micro - Get A Game Boy Micro For Less

One of the newest and best video game machines available today is the Game Boy micro. It has a smaller, sleek design that makes it very attractive especially to many people that are obsessed with gaming online and off-line. There are a few ways that people can pick this up at a fraction of the cost. Here are a few tips on how to find a GameBoy micro that will not punch a hole in your wallet.

When I was growing up, the greatest fad at the time were arcade games that were found in local stores or even large arcade centers where you had to pay a quarter to play them for a limited time. These games were very bulky and heavy and were accessible only at specific locations.

With the advent of home entertainment systems like Atari and other game systems, the concept of being able to play video games at home was born. As modern technology has increased, the size of everything has decreased including the ability to take your video game along with you. The Game Boy micro is one such toy.

Like its larger version which I believe is called the Game Boy advance SP, it allows you to play a vast assortment of games with things that are so small it boggles the imagination that a game can be contained on such a small piece of digital machinery. Kids just throw the games in their pocket, literally 10 or 20 of them, and off they go to play them all day long.

The GameBoy micro is very handy because of its small size but it can probably get lost and very easily. It would seem advantageous to attach some kind of string or Velcro to this and make sure that it cannot be lost easily while a child is playing.

The other thing that is confusing is how small the screen is. You would think that something so tiny would not be played because things like big screen TVs are in but perhaps this is a bipolar concept where very big and very small are the things that are in and what is in the middle, or what used to be the normal, are now obsolete.

If you decide to purchase a GameBoy micro for your child, make sure that it is old enough to take care of this very expensive piece of electronic equipment or else you may be out hundreds of dollars for the game and the many games that it will play if they are not careful.

The best way to get a GameBoy micro at a cheap price is too look in the local classifieds or even on the Internet for people that are selling items for money. Sometimes the first things to go far the things they need the least or things they are bored with and you can usually get a very good price.

The other possibility is looking at online auctions and seeing if you can get a used GameBoy micro that will literally save you hundreds of dollars especially if you are getting a package deal that contains games that you are picking up for only a few bucks a piece.

World of Warcraft - A Virtual Fantasy World

With the advancement of the science and technology all around the globe, there has been a revolution in the world of entertainment. The companies are taking full advantage of this advancement and are engaged in the development of different tools of entertainment. The companies are finding this a very profitable business for them to develop gaming tools as these tools are in heavy demand in the market. There are even gaming sites that offer the customers and subscribers a whole world of exciting games. One such game is World of Warcraft which creates a world of fantasy for everyone.

World of Warcraft (commonly abbreviated as WoW) is a world famous massively multiplayer online role-playing game. This game was the fourth release of Blizzard Entertainment which was first introduced by Warcraft. World of Warcraft came into existence four years after the events at the end of Blizzard's previous release.

It is currently rated the world's most wanted massively multiplayer online role-playing game in terms of monthly subscribers and holds the Guinness World Record for the most popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game. As per an estimate, World of Warcraft currently holds 62% of the massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) market at 10 million subscribers.

World of Warcraft is the latest MMORPG i.e. massively multiplayer online role-playing game. It is different from previous games in the Warcraft series. Obviously there are some similarities as well. The similarities lie in the use of the same setting of the world of Azeroth as well as following a similar art direction. Since it is a gaming site, the service is not available free of cost so World of Warcraft also requires the players to pay for a subscription. This subscription is collected in different processes. The subscribers pay the amount either by buying game cards or by using a credit or debit card to pay the amount on a regular basis.

To enter the game, the players are supposed to select a server to play on. Each server acts as an individual copy of the game world. These four realms fall into one of four different categories depending on the rules that realm uses as these rules keep on changing. Realms can be classified as a combat between two players where open fight between other players is also allowed.

The atmosphere of the game is designed in such a captivating manner that the players get themselves into a world of fantasy. The animated characters of the world of Warcraft present a fascinating atmosphere to the subscribers and the players. The depiction of dungeons and other animated things, undoubtedly, increase the interested of the players in their own situations.

The famous games of the Warcraft like the Board Game, Molten Core Raid Deck, and Warcraft Dark Portal Booster... are the real blockbusters of their respective periods. But this also has the negative side as well. The experts of the business do not agree to the gaming patterns and the rules and regulations of the World of Warcraft. As the name of the series depicts, the nature of the games is very aggressive as the players try to kill their opponents.

Once you have learned the secrets to get gold in World of Warcraft, you will never have to farm for hours or even buy gold. With World of Warcraft Gold Secrets you will no longer need to waste either time or cash to get what you want. Click here to find out more!

If You Play Arcade Games, Here are Some Tips to Play Games Online

For the last few years, the only games my sons would play online were arcade games. I have to admit that these games are quite interesting, and if I was lucky enough to have some free time, which I did have some back then, I would sit with them while they played and get quite involved myself. Though I dont have as much time for that anymore, those will always be some of my favorite memories with my sons.

The thing about arcade games is that they are very intense. My sons would often get very worked up about the games, and that was perhaps most of the fun of it. The world inside that game is very real while you are playing it, and it would often seem like that was all there was to think about. Though arcade games are pretty common, there are only so many that can be considered very good. Everyone likes something different anyway, so there is something out there for everyone.

You do have to be careful when you play arcade games however, as they can be quite addictive. If you have any sort of work to do, you should do it before you play arcade games. My sons would get lost for hours in their online games, and there were a few times when my oldest son would almost forget to go to work. This can happen with any online game though. I know a few that I play have sucked away more time than I realized. It would seem the arcade games are the worst though.

If you are looking for some great arcade games to play, you might want to find some reviews first to see what you might want to try. You can find these all over the internet, and you can usually find tips and tricks to help you along if you have no idea what you are doing. Some of these games are more expensive, and its hard to know what you will like and what just wont work for you. You might also try free online games with someone you know to save a little money on buying new games.

Lullaby Mobiles to Help Your Little One Drift Off

The idea of having a mobile hanging above a crib, cot or child's bed has been around for a very long time, and there have been many different variations, from shiny silver or crystal affairs that reflect the light in beautiful rainbow patterns of light, to those that have a ring of cartoon characters or teddy bears prancing about in an unending circle chasing each other. Many parents have constructed their own, and there have been plenty of blue print suggestions in the past on how to do this, with a couple of coat hangers, some coloured paper and some tape.

However, today's babies and toddlers are extremely lucky, and are frequently delighted at the range of lullaby mobiles available on the market. These lullaby mobiles play music as they turn, and are either clockwork, being wound up beforehand, or battery operated. The clockwork ones tend to be preferable since the music is usually more natural sounding, with fine tones and a lovely 'tinkle' type tune. The battery operated mobile can sometimes have the sort of musical arrangement one might find in a Christmas or birthday card, and is fairly uninspiring and not likely to help the child drift into a beautiful sleep. If it was me, I'd rather drift off to the sound of a fairy-sized harpsichord than an electronic series of beeps at an octave so high I'd be in danger of finding myself surrounded by bats by morning.

Having said that, I refer mostly to the cheaper varieties, and there are, naturally, more expensive and therefore more worthwhile constructions which can play beautifully soothing music. In either case, these mobiles tend to rotate, which allows a very gentle and slow performance of characters spinning round to keep the child transfixed. Sometimes these mobiles can be hung from the ceiling, but in most cases a very simple chunky bracket allows them to be attached to the side of a cot and then the mobile hangs from a tall arch that holds the characters just out of arm reach.

These brackets are usually adjustable, because of course as your child grows he, or she, will eventually be able to reach these mobiles, and what you do not want is a child able to get their head up to mobile height and start exploring the mobile, because they could easily find themselves caught in its loop, and the consequences could be awful. These cot based mobiles are therefore more suited to a child who is under 18 months, after which ceiling based mobiles are more suited.

There are alternatives to these mobiles, and having a cheap compact disc player tucked away under the cot can provide more soothing sounds for the child, with a mobile hanging up higher that doesn't play music. The advantage here is that you'll have better sound quality, more choice of music, and you'll be able to adjust the volume. If you have a remote control, you can slowly decrease the volume and eventually stop the music once your little one drifts off the sleep.

Winning in Internet Poker

When people speak of Internet poker, there is one name that cuts above the rest of the poker variants - the Texas Hold'em poker game. This variant of poker is considered to be the most popular type being played in the online casinos. The same popularity also extends to television and the World Tour of Poker.

Put simply, Texas Hold'em involves fours rounds of betting: the first after the hands of two cards have been dealt; the second after a "flop" of three cards has been dealt on the table; the third and fourth after "turn" and "river" cards have been dealt on the table. The object is to get the best standard poker hand of five cards, using any of the five table cards or the two cards in hand.

While all poker game variants involve a lot of psychological play - and Texas Hold'em is certainly not an exception - it is possible to play winning poker with a purely mathematical strategy. The sheer amount of players online ensures that you can cash in on the bad players: the gamblers.

Playing winning Internet poker involves getting rid of the gambler's instinct and concentrating on the game. While it involves mathematics, the concepts are easy enough for anyone to understand. Even simply picking the starting hands according to a set table gives one a great edge against poor players.

There are many different styles of play: loose or tight, based on how many hands one is willing to play; aggressive or passive, based on how easily one bets or folds. Almost any combination can win. The style of play best suited for winning depends on the person. However, it is usually best to start with a tight-aggressive strategy, especially before one grasps the finer points of Hold'em.

Playing positions matter a lot in Hold'em. The dealer plays last after the first round and is in the worst position. The blinds are early positions as is the next one, which is called "under the gun". Which positions are middle and which late depends on the number of players.

Hands are often written in shorthand like K7 for king and seven off-suit and A9s for ace-nine suited. A basic guide to starting hands that suits this style of play is the following: play AA, KK, AKs and QQ from any position; play AQs, JJ, AK, TT and AJs from mid to late position; and play mid pairs and high ace-suits from dealer position, when you get the chance.

Hold'em becomes much more complicated at later stages and higher levels of play, but even this amount of information gives an edge about some players. To play winning Internet poker one has to stop gambling and start playing strategy. Play solid strategy and rest assured: at the end of the day, the best player will win.

The best place to go for poker promotions is Online Poker Rooms. The site has reviews and promotions for the top online poker rooms, all of them offering Texas Hold'em as a variant.

Commodore 64 Coming to the Virtual Console

It all started with five systems, the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo 64, NEC's TurboGrafx-16 and CD, and Sega's Mega Drive/Genesis. Then, SNK's Neo Geo made their presence felt. Now another former gaming giant is set to put their stamp on the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console. It comes in the form of the best selling personal computer of all time, the Commodore 64. The Commodore 64 debuted in 1982 as an 8-bit home computer and featured over 4,000 video games. However, there is a catch. As of now, Commodore 64 will only be available on the European Virtual Console.

This is a move that has taken nearly two years to accomplish. In 2006, British Publisher System 3 purchased Epyx, the game developers that created most of Commodore 64's video games. Their intent on the purpose was to re-release the games on the Nintendo DS, PSP, and most importantly, the Virtual Console. The CEO of Commodore Gaming also began working with Nintendo of Europe to try and secure Commodore 64's place on the Virtual Console.

Among the first titles from Commodore 64 which will be made available on Virtual Console are International Karate and Uridium. Commodore 64 games will also cost the same as Nintendo Entertainment System games at 500 Wii Points. Some other famous games from the era of Commodore 64 include California Games, 4th and Inches, Skate or Die, and many arcade ports like Donkey Kong, Breakout, 1942, Bubble Bobble, etc.

While it is currently only slated for release on the European Virtual Console, there is no evidence that the Commodore 64 will not find its way to North America. As mentioned before, the system is still the best selling personal computer of all time and has created many classics. It was perhaps the longest running video game system in history lasting from 1982 to 1994. It began the 8-bit era years before Nintendo got into the home console market and successful sales in Europe is sure to see the Commodore 64 make it's way overseas. Hopefully that is the case, as there are many classic games that gamers never had a chance to play and enjoy.

Neighbor: Hudson's Family Had E! Online - UPDATE: Jennifer Hudson's publicist, Lisa Kasteler, has issued this statement:

Rundll Errors Explained

Rundll errors are commonly encountered by many computer users. Knowing that the internet is growing at a massive pace on a daily level, and that more than fifty million people are logged in at any moment, many of whom are new entrants to the internet (thanks to the massive infocomm infiltration in developing countries), I shall approach this article in a way that everyone can understand.

Firstly - The Mighty DLL

DLL files are basically system files that are integral to any and all programmes written for the Windows environment. These files are like vast codex's, libraries that contain information, in one's and zero's, keys, codes and data used by programmes for reasons that is specific to its operation.

These DLL's are shared by many programmes, a centralised databank where they can access. Why? Well, if every programme has its own exclusive code and language, they would operate singularly against each other, sharing no information with each other, which would be extremely slow. Windows uses DLL's to run many functions, many programmes, reusing code and instructions within them for speed and efficiency.

For the techie in you, we are concentrating today on the Rundll.exe (16-bit) and Rundll32.exe(32 bit) which are evident in all Windows OS's. These are the tools that Windows use to run functions within shared DLL's - programmes and applications

Rundll Errors - How the Mighty have Fallen

Rundll errors are caused when there is a command line confusion. Basically, this happens when Windows tries to load a dll file that isn't there - unable to locate the dll file a programme is trying to execute. In simple terms, the dll has a set of instructions- which Windows 'listens' to properly launch programmes and application. The problem occurs when there dll file or code within the file is missing, causing an error and possible system crash.

The Causes

Usually, rundll errors are caused by malicious malware and spyware, or even virus files that have infiltrated your computer. These pirate programmes and executables basically take over the files being shared by the rundll applications. Certain viruses change the structure of these shared dll's, transforming code lines or making them totally inaccessible. Trojan attacks insert fake .dll files within the system folder, that then download malicious software that can further corrupt the .dll library.

What happens? Rundll tries to access these files when programmes or applications are launched. The missing code, new conflicting dll instructions or even missing files causes the infamous 'rundll error' message log. It can even lead to total system crashes.

What to do

You can use antivirus and antispyware programmes that can alleviate the situation. They track down all malware and bad software, viruses and delete them from your system.

But that is not effective enough. What about the tracks and damages left behind? A good load of these faults are stored in the Windows Registry.Remember, the registry records everything that happens within the computer. Trojans and malware even, when changing or hijacking dll's, leave their imprints within the registry.

Use a Registry Cleaner

This is the total solution to your problem A good registry cleaner will track down all rundll errors and resolve them automatically. It can identify and highlight the dll errors as well as other errors left behind by malware and viruses, thus speeding up your computer and solving most of your desktop dilemmas.

Wii Download Free Games - Downloading Extra Games For Your Wii

Prices of games have been going up and up in the recent past, and in stores this isn't going to change any time soon. Luckily for all us gamers though, companies have started to spring up that offer ground breaking new services such as downloading games straight to our consoles for a fraction of the cost. For example, one company named Wii Media will allow you to download as many games as you like to Wii for the same price it would cost to buy a single game in the shops. Not to mention that they also allow you to download movies, music and TV shows for no extra cost!

Many people when they hear this can't believe that it's true, and assume it must be illegal. I must admit when I first heard about the service I thought it was too good to be true, but it is actually legal. The reason the price is so much less than physical games is simply because there are none of the huge costs of getting the games to shops.

The great thing about services like this is for trying out games or genres that you usually wouldn't. Most gamers can't afford more than a couple of games a month usually, so they have to be carefully selective and it is difficult to take a chance without worrying about wasting your money. With download services, once you've signed up you can download as many games as you want for no extra cost, so there is no reason not to try out new games!

It is also important to point out that the Wii Media system was created for people who have no tech skills, and there are guides which take you through the entire setup process as well as 24/7 support to make sure it is up and running smoothly and quickly.

To find sites that have Wii download free games is always going to be full of danger with viruses, fines and not to mention the effort in finding them. With a one off fee to Wii Media, you don't have to worry about anything apart from picking the games you want to play that week and downloading them. If you had a choice between another store bought game or unlimited downloadable games for the same price, I'm sure I know which one you would choose.

First Steps to Learning to Podcast With Your Students - Teaching With Technology

You've heard your students talk about the various podcasts they are downloading to their ipods, but you are wondering what it is and how it can apply to your classroom.

A podcast is a digital media file that is distributed over the internet. The word podcast comes from the two words "iPod" and "broadcast." A podcast is different from other digital media formats by its ability to be syndicated, subscribed to, and downloaded automatically when new content is added. The easiest way to understand a podcast is to think of a radio show that you like to listen to often. Instead of having to tune in at a specific time you are able to download it to your iPod and listen at your convenience. By subscribing to the show you don't have to remember to go and look for the newest shows, your computer will automatically bring all of the new shows to your computer and then to your iPod.

Podcasts began as just audio files. Now you can find podcasts that are just audio or audio, video, and combinations of media.

The easiest way to begin podcasting is to choose one topic and ask each child in the class to respond to the topic and record their voice. A simple way to do this is to use an iPod and a voice recorder. A voice recorder plugs in to the iPod at the bottom where the dock cord connects. By using this setup the child can take the iPod to a quiet location. After each child records his contribution, bring each comment into an application such as Garage Band or Audacity. The pauses and repeated words can be edited out to save time and to make the listening more enjoyable.

The first podcast I ever made with a class was to ask kindergarteners to share everything the preschoolers would need to know for their upcoming move to kindergarten. One bit of advice is to build suspense with the children and encourage them to keep their ideas to themselves and to try to be different from what they think everyone else with say.

Before making your first podcast, take some time to search online and through iTunes to listen to various examples of what children around the world have shared. When you find something that matches what you teach in your classroom, try that idea with your students! Keep trying what others have successfully done to grow your repertoire of ideas and experience.

Some ideas to begin podcasting:

*Reading and recording writing pieces

*Give advice on various topics

*Ways children avoid doing homework

*Techniques for avoiding eating food you dislike

*Responses to a piece of literature

*Places in the world/country/state/city each child would like to visit and why

Once you've made a few podcasts you might want to consider some of these ideas

*Class newsletters given in an audio format with different groups responsible for different aspects of the class news

*Reporting of learned concepts about any subject of study

*Weird fact of the week

*Word of the week

*Internet safety tips

*An interesting aspect of the city or state that you live in

*Public service announcements

*Interviewing historical figures

*Literature responses

*Podcast school concerts

*Complete and Explain what clichs mean (such as "People in glass houses shouldn't.....or A stitch in time saves nine.")

Besides being great fun and an excellent way to show understanding of a concept, podcasting with your students will encourage them to read fluently when they know that their voice will be heard by the world.

Multiplayer Online RPG Games Strategies

Maximize Your Playing Time With Tried And Tested MMORPG Strategies

So, you've finally decided to take the plunge and entered one of the many magical worlds of Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games, or MMORPG. Whether you have chosen to serve the cause of the Human Alliance in Azeroth, or prowl the forests of Norrath as a half-elf, or walk the side of evil in battle-ravaged Paragon City, you're guaranteed of one thing: countless, countless hours of fun and excitement living the virtual, fantastic life of the character you have created!

But the success of your character as well as your adventures in any MMORPG would depend on two factors: your strategy and your skills.

Most MMORPG players fear that they don't have the time to build up their levels and participate in the many experience-rewarding quests in the games they have decided to subscribe to. They fear that they are at a disadvantage compared to other players who could commit so many hours on a particular game, whereas they could only play for a limited time on a semi-daily basis.

This is not true.

There is a fine line between quality play and quantity play. A player may play for hours upon hours, but if he doesn't have the requisite skills and a sound strategy, he won't level up just as fast. But a player who could only play for, say, 3 hours everyday can achieve a higher level if he has the right skill set and if he employs the proper strategies.

Which brings us to the point of this article: there are a number of universal strategies that can be used with most MMORPG models. Knowing them would help you maximize the time you could commit for the game. What are these strategies? Read on, brave adventurer...

1. Know the character you want before you build him/her. Every MMORPG offers the same basic character types. Knowing what you want and what you need before you build such a character would give your adventuring some purpose. Each character type has specific strengths and weaknesses. And since leveling up would require you to allot certain points to a variety of attributes, you will have to know which of these attributes would serve your character best. A knight/warrior, for example, needs an initial build with the hit points and power maxed out. Every time such a character would level up, you have to allot points to these 2 attributes only. A mage/priest/acolyte needs an initial build with intelligence set at the maximum, and this is the attribute that should be developed.

2. Partying is key in any MMORPG. Joining a party of fellow gamers would allow you to level up faster. Not only will you be able to take on more powerful monsters which you wouldn't be able to deal with by yourself, you'd also be able to venture to places that are otherwise too dangerous for you. Additionally, more powerful monsters would drop more valuable items, and you could use these or sell them for a lot of currency!

3. Look for a tank. A tank is basically a character that would attack a monster first. This would cause the monster to focus its own attacks on that player, allowing you to kill it from behind, and safe from its fatal blows. Once the monster is killed, you'd receive a majority of the experience points. It goes without saying that your tank should be a character with high hit points.

4. Use magic chests or banks. A lot of MMORPG models utilize a deposit system where you could store the items you have decided to keep as well as the money you have earned. Use these! Not only will you be able to clear up your inventory screen, but if your character would die in battle, you won't have to lose the valuable items that you have gained.

5. Do not pick a fight you cannot win. Know the level status of the monsters, as well as other players in PvP (Player vs. Player) situations. MMORPG models use a certain algorithm that makes the determination of the winner a mathematical fact. Basically, if your level is lower than theirs, and you'll battle on a one-on-one basis, you'll lose. Pick your fights intelligently.

Many veteran MMORPG campaigners would tell you that it's not how much time you spend playing the game that matters, it's how you play the game within the time you spend on the same that counts. Practicing the MMORPG strategies we have discussed in this article would guarantee an optimal experience for you, even if you'd play your preferred MMORPG for limited periods during the week.

Information Technology Law - Copyright in Computer Programs - Copyright Law

The Court of Appeal in the case of Nova Productions Ltd v Mazooma Games Ltd; Nova Productions Ltd v Bell Fruit Games Ltd [2007] has ruled that producing a computer program which emulates another program, without actually copying that program's code or graphics, does not breach copyright laws. The case is likely to be of immense interest (and of potential concern) to software developers as well as the owners of copyright in computer programs.

Commentators believe that the purpose of the case is to act as a reminder that it is not, and should not, be an infringement of copyright simply to use ideas that are expressed in a copyright work. Lord Justice Jacob's conclusion that this would turn copyright into an instrument of oppression, rather than a means of encouraging creativity, is to be very much welcomed.

The claimant, Nova Productions, had created a pool-based computer game called 'Pocket Money'. Nova alleged that Mazooma Games and Bell Fruit Games - both were also games producers - had come up with very similar pool games, 'Jackpot Pool' and 'Trick Shot'. Both games contained ideas and functionality similar to those in 'Pocket Money'. Nova did not suggest that either of the defendants had directly copied the software code of 'Pocket Money'. The High Court accepted that some parts of the games may have been "inspired by" Nova, and so held there was no copyright infringement.

Nova appealed on the grounds that the animation sequences used in 'Pocket Money' amounted to "artistic works" and there would therefore be copyright in the sequence of frames. It was also alleged that the other similar features of the game were "literary works", also protected by copyright. The claim to artistic copyright was in respect of the visual appearance of 'Pocket Money', whereas the claim to literary copyright was in respect of the software code and preparatory design material for the software.

The Court of Appeal held that copyright must not be used to stifle the creation of individual works which are actually very different. But as well as its general importance in affirming the scope of copyright protection, the decision is particularly important in relation to two specific points covered in the appeal:

Whether in assessing the artistic quality of a drawing that forms part of a series of stills, such as in a cartoon, the differences between the stills can be taken into account as part of the graphical quality. The court held that a series of drawings is simply a series of graphic works, and that by putting together a series of still images an additional copyright work or protection above and beyond the still images is not created.

The Court of Appeal has affirmed the principle established in Navitaire v Easyjet, that there is no infringement of copyright in a computer code based on similarities in the visual outputs from this code. In determining whether literary copyright in a computer code has been infringed this has to be based on careful analysis of whether the code itself has been copied, rather than an analysis of whether there is any visual similarity in the outputs of that program.

Nintendo Wii Games on Sale - Unlimited Games for Cheap, but Which Service to Choose?

So if you are reading this, by now you've realised that buying games from the store is basically for chumps. The new Wii games download services let us download as many games as we want for less than the price of a single game. But now that downloading our games legally and cheaply is becoming more and more popular, shiny new sites and services are popping up everywhere! How do you pick and choose which download services is right for you?

So theres a quite a few sites out there now that allow you to download Wii games. These sites can save you oodles of money by downloading games for cheap rather than going out and buying the physical game from the store.

Now that there is a couple of different services on the net for downloading Wii games, the question you need to ask is, how to I figure out which site to sign up with? Some sites are definitely better than others in terms of range of Wii games to download, technical support and price. You also need to be very careful, as some of the sites are scams, or are highly illegal and can land you in serious hot water.

The most important thing to consider is of course, do they have the games I want? Don't sign up with a service that offers only a few games and promises 'more titles coming soon'. Established services already have hundreds of games available, with the latest releases coming out on time and often before they are out in the shops. Don't save a few bucks by signing up to a service that doesn't have the range you want, the smaller sites often take ages to allow access to download the latest Wii games and often don't feature other necessities such as technical support.

Another thing to consider is: Does this service provide other media? The Wii is an incredibly versatile piece of equipment, and can play videos, movies, TV shows, music and photos in a wide range of formats. Make sure the service you sign up with offers more than just games, so you can get the most out of your Wii.

Technical support should also be considered. While most of the larger sites are very user friendly, when you are downloading Wii games from the internet, transferring files from a PC to your Wii, or burning Wii games to a disc, sometimes problems crop up. This makes getting good technical support very important. Sign up with a service that has not only 24 contact support via email, but also tutorials, step-by-step guides and FAQs.

Legality should also be considered. Is the site legal, or is it a fly-by-night operation that might not be around much longer once Nintendo's lawyers discover it? Don't lay your cash down on a dodgy site that won't be there the next time you want to get a game because the owners have been busted for copyright infringement. Look for a site that is legal, and has a TOS, FAQs and privacy statements available on their site.

Of all the sites I've checked out, the winner is still the original Wii games download site on the net, Wii Media Downloads. While some of the other services are getting better and better all the time (WiiGamesDownloader is one that seems to be much improved), Wii Media Downloads still has the edge with superior technical support and range of titles and media.

By efficient and trusted we don't necessarily mean immediately family, friends or the related. It means people that you can vouch for completing the tasks at hand successfully without further ado.

Among the many ways to manage successful businesses, most importantly the ones you are starting and keeping from the comfort of your own home or nearby productive office it is necessary to set daily schedules. Managing wholesale video games businesses as well as other businesses online involve your focus to best extents. Involves concentrating on priorities; concentrating on the first biggest priorities at hand while leaving those of less importance for later time during the day. Imagine you have 10 scheduled appointments to call or to research from a wholesale games standpoint, scheduling to market to the best leads at hand should be often logic to pursue and contact first.

If you are self-employed and have your own businesses, no matter how many opportunities you have at a given point your priority should most often be big fishes at hand. Focusing on big fishes at hand mean concentrating on big results! If you do the exact opposite for your scheduled day, by common sense and by even logic what do you think you'll get in exchange? How To Download Games Onto PSP

The hot thing today is the PSP. If you don't have one, you may not understand why. If you do, you understand the draw of it. The PSP is a piece of equipment that goes far beyond a portable video game.

The games are on a small disk known as a UMD that can be carried around easily. There are also memory sticks that you can use to store games on. So, how do you download games onto your PSP from your computer?

Here is your guide:

When programmers design games specifically for the PSP, they are sometimes referred to as Homebrew Games. Some of these Homebrew Games are made for the PSP game console to mimic games made for other systems so you do not have to have every console made in order to play every game.

For example, a game that was made for Nintendo may be Homebrewed to play with your PSP console so you can have the fun of the Nintendo, but not the expense. This is just one of the many selling points for the PSP because you can download Homebrew PSP games from just about anywhere you look online.

To download a game on to PSP from the Internet, you will need a PSP memory stick with sufficient memory. It is advisable that the stick have at least 1GB of memory to accommodate graphic, sound and any personal settings. However, these cards can get expensive, so if you do not have one or do not have the money to buy one, a 256 MB stick will most likely work. If your stick is brand new, it will have to be formatted before downloading.

An important note: you will need your PSP Firmware version 1.5 or less. If you have a newer PSP you may have to downgrade.

It is quite simple to download games for PSP from the Internet to your PC , then move the files from your computer to the PSP itself. When you hook up the PSP to the PC via a USB cable, the PC will recognize it as a removable memory device. Then the computer will assign a drive; usually the f: drive; and then you can simply drag and drop your PSP game files to the memory stick.

After the games for the PSP are transferred to the memory stick, tell the computer you want to disconnect the PSP. Once the computer gives the 'all clear' you can safely remove the PSP.

The PSP's main menu will have a listing called GAME and press the Memory Stick option. After pressing X, a list is displayed of the games on your memory stick. If there is an error displayed, you might want to check the version of Firmware you are using.

Now that you know how to download games onto PSP ...go out there and give it a shot. This is a technique that has been used to download games onto PSP countless times.

Ryan Edward has scoured the Internet, testing and reviewing 37 different PSP download sites and has officially crowned the winner "King of PSP Downloads" check out his website now to see who won the crown and why http://www.ryanstips.com/psp

Democratic congressional candidate Joe Garcia, left, translates Spanish into English for U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., listens during a presentation to senior citizens in the Little Havana area of Miami Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2008. (AP PhotoJ Pat Carter)AP - Democrats are on track for sizable gains in both houses of Congress on Nov. 4, according to strategists in both parties, although only improbable Southern victories can produce the 60-vote Senate majority they covet to help them pass priority legislation.

A Tale of Three Tales

Certain phrases in the English language are often used to great effect, such as when we think of marketing: "Don't leave home without it", or "Melts in your mouth, not in your hands, and even "Obey your thirst". These key phrases and words associate certain products with them when we are exposed to them over and over, so it isn't surprising that in the world of video games, certain key phrases and words have taken on associated meanings. After all, there are tens of thousands of used video games, and thinking all the way back to the Nintendo Enterainment System(NES) and moving forward to the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii, there is bound to be a wealth of intentional and unintentional 'sloganizing'.

We are all aware of the success of franchises like Super Mario Brothers and the Legend of Zelda, but what about the other guys, those games that might go unnoticed were we not here to salvage their epic playability and raise them to that famed 'classic' status? It is with these less well known video games that we are here to discuss today

If you have ever thought of the phrase Tales of.. in relation to a video game, what did you think of? For me, I envision a role-playing game (RPG) fraught with turned-based combat and towns full of common folk ready to share information with you. I also think of three particular games: Tales of Symphonia (Nintendo Gamecube, Playstation 2), Tales of the Abyss (Playstation 2), and Tales of Phantasia (Super Famicom, Game Boy Advance, Playstation, PSP). What do these three RPGs have in common? Let's take a look:

Tales of Symphonia - Like previous games in the Tales series, Tales of Symphonia uses a version of the Linear Motion Battle System - a real-time battle system, as opposed to the turn-based systems used in traditional role-playing games. When running around in the overworld, battles can be triggered by running into the monsters that dot the landscape. The Overlimit feature, which is a result of building 'tension points', allows characters to take less damage, perform special actions, and cast spells more quickly. 'Grade' is substituted for experience, and can be used to purchase items and EX gems

As characters level up in Tales of Symphonia, they can learn 'EX-skills' which allows them learn different abilities, sometimes combining them for greater effect. Each character can earn up to 25 titles in the game either by playing through a certain point in the game, by leveling, or by meeting certain conditions. Different titles will have different effects. Items in the game are a result of loot from battle, from recipes learned from the Wonder Chef (success in cooking is determined by the character's skill level), and from NPCs upgrading items when given certain components.

Along with the cut scenes in the game, decisions you make will affect how others think of Lloyd, the main character. Depending on the choices you make, the friendship's among the characters may change.

Tales of the Abyss - Tales of the Abyss is a story about Luke, and the value of friendship and sacrifice. As Luke, you begin inside your family's manor, an amnesiac caused by the shock of being kidnapped years ago. Shattering your forgotten memories, a girl named Tear breaks into the castle, and you are taken from the safety of home to places unknown. Luke roams freely through his environment finding treasure and voracious enemies to boot.

The land is full of particles created from elements including light, dark, air, earth, fire, and water called Fonons, and the you can master the a particular area by using attacks that are based in one of six particles. Luke can charge-up normal actions to become super attacks by using moves that require the primary Fonon found within that environment. Luke's companions Mieu and Jade, will join you along the way and fill out your party.

Elemental attacks are made more powerful by using slot chambers to add special effects such as power, damage, and health increases, and as your characters level up, you have over 80 unlockable attributes that affect Luke and his friends. As you journey through your main quest of uncovering Luke's affiliation with the Order of Lorelei, side stories include cooking to increase attributes and accessorizing with swimsuits, upscale clothing, and more. You can journey by yourself, or invite up to three friends to play along as characters in Luke's party.

Tales of Phantasia - Tales of Phantasia, was a role-playing game originally released for the Super Famicom, and due to its success as a series, it has finally been releasted in North America. Today, Tales of Phantasia distinguishes itself with its action-oriented, side-scrolling battle sequences (reminding one of Zelda II - The Adventures of Link (NES).

Tales of Phantasia is the story of Cress, a teenager out hunting one day who encounters a strange phenomenon, and as a result realizes he must save the past in order to insure the present. Along the way, he'll be joined by several other characters, learning magic, commanding elementals, taking sides in political struggles, and more.

The combat system defies the tradition of most RPGS, and is most similar to Tales of Symphonia. Rather than take turn based attacks, battles in Tales of Phantasia put you in direct control of Cress. You can perform a variety of strikes using the attack button and control pad, learning other techniques as the game progresses. It's also possible to perform chain combinations, much like Symphonia. The combat system is pleasant diversion from turn-based RPGs, and the animations and backgrounds are beautiful, and have held up well over time on the Gameboy Advance.

Certainly, as video game technology progressed, so did the marketing skills of the companies making the games. Reading the back of the boxes of some Sega Master System games one morning over a box of cereal, I realized how bad the writing was for some of the games. In the 90s, and 00s, companies started employing professional writers, and marketers caught on to sloganizing in video games, giving us a wealth of 'Tales of..' games. The ones I came with are listed here: Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Destiny, Tales of Destiny 2, Tales of Eternia, Tales of Fandom, Tales of Rebirth, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Legendia,, Tales of the Abyss, and Tales of the Tempest. Hmmm. It is starting to not sound like an accident after all. In any case, I will leave it to the reader to judge which elements are similar in the three reviewed titles, and which are not. You could also go out and play these three classics, given enough time.

Games Development and Its Scope in the IT Industry

SEO Technology Helps Your Search Position

Creating a website for your business or organization is a great way to inform the public about your services. It is not hard to create a website, as there are many different easy to instructional sites and programs out there that can help you, step by step. Despite all of this, if you want to be sure that your site reaches the most potential web surfers, you have to have a good search position.

Search position is essentially as follows. When potential customers or internet users want to find certain products or information, they usually use a search engine, such as Google. They can type key words into the query box and press enter in order for them to be sorted out by the search engine. For instance, if someone was looking for state of the art cooking supplies, they might type the phrase cooking supplies into a Google search. Within the resulting sites and companies, search position would show whether sites are first, last or somewhere in the middle of the list.

For one, customers often see those sites first, and therefore they usually have the most traffic. Another thing is that these sites may contain the most key words relevant to the search that was done, therefore it is often found to be a better match than sites further down on the list. It comes down to the fact that there are many factors involved in acquiring, and maintaining, a high search position.

If the thought is crossing your mind that you would like to improve your search position rank, you have quite a few options. One of those options is to hire an SEO. An SEO is essentially a company that is expert at improving the search position of web sites. A good, ethical company will practice White Hat SEO practices. Black Hat SEO is the practice of using unethical methods such as spamdexing, which misleads web surfers with irrelevant key words.

Introduction of relevant key words is one White Hat SEO procedure. Key words that encompass the content and message of your site are used in order to direct potential customers there, when your services are a match with their needs. White Hat SEO also may include reorganizing your site content, or adding things you may have overlooked. It is miraculous what a little rearranging can do for a tired looking site in the eyes of potential customers!

You may think it would be easier to change these things yourself, but more goes into search position than meets the eye. It can take months of training to understand the algorithms and formulas that also go into search rankings. The combination of knowing all of these components will make for the best search position for your company, which in turn will help improve upon your site traffic.

The Evolution of Technology - The History of Computers

While computers are now an important part of the lives of human beings, there was a time where computers did not exist. Knowing the history of computers and how much progression has been made can help you understand just how complicated and innovative the creation of computers really is.

Unlike most devices, the computer is one of the few inventions that does not have one specific inventor. Throughout the development of the computer, many people have added their creations to the list required to make a computer work. Some of the inventions have been different types of computers, and some of them were parts required to allow computers to be developed further.

The Beginning

Perhaps the most significant date in the history of computers is the year 1936. It was in this year that the first "computer" was developed. It was created by Konrad Zuse and dubbed the Z1 Computer. This computer stands as the first as it was the first system to be fully programmable. There were devices prior to this, but none had the computing power that sets it apart from other electronics.

It wasn't until 1942 that any business saw profit and opportunity in computers. This first company was called ABC computers, owned and operated by John Atanasoff and Clifford Berry. Two years later, the Harvard Mark I computer was developed, furthering the science of computing.

Over the course of the next few years, inventors all over the world began to search more into the study of computers, and how to improve upon them. Those next ten years say the introduction of the transistor, which would become a vital part of the inner workings of the computer, the ENIAC 1 computer, as well as many other types of systems. The ENIAC 1 is perhaps one of the most interesting, as it required 20,000 vacuum tubes to operate. It was a massive machine, and started the revolution to build smaller and faster computers.

The age of computers was forever altered by the introduction of International Business Machines, or IBM, into the computing industry in 1953. This company, over the course of computer history, has been a major player in the development of new systems and servers for public and private use. This introduction brought about the first real signs of competition within computing history, which helped to spur faster and better development of computers. Their first contribution was the IBM 701 EDPM Computer.

A Programming Language Evolves

A year later, the first successful high level programming language was created. This was a programming language not written in 'assembly' or binary, which are considered very low level languages. FORTRAN was written so that more people could begin to program computers easily.

The year 1955, the Bank of America, coupled with Stanford Research Institute and General Electric, saw the creation of the first computers for use in banks. The MICR, or Magnetic Ink Character Recognition, coupled with the actual computer, the ERMA, was a breakthrough for the banking industry. It wasn't until 1959 that the pair of systems were put into use in actual banks.

During 1958, one of the most important breakthroughs in computer history occurred, the creation of the integrated circuit. This device, also known as the chip, is one of the base requirements for modern computer systems. On every motherboard and card within a computer system, are many chips that contain information on what the boards and cards do. Without these chips, the systems as we know them today cannot function.

Gaming, Mice, & the Internet

For many computer users now, games are a vital part of the computing experience. 1962 saw the creation of the first computer game, which was created by Steve Russel and MIT, which was dubbed Spacewar.

The mouse, one of the most basic components of modern computers, was created in 1964 by Douglass Engelbart. It obtained its name from the "tail" leading out of the device.

One of the most important aspects of computers today was invented in 1969. ARPA net was the original Internet, which provided the foundation for the Internet that we know today. This development would result in the evolution of knowledge and business across the entire planet.

It wasn't until 1970 that Intel entered the scene with the first dynamic RAM chip, which resulted in an explosion of computer science innovation.

On the heels of the RAM chip was the first microprocessor, which was also designed by Intel. These two components, in addition to the chip developed in 1958, would number among the core components of modern computers.

A year later, the floppy disk was created, gaining its name from the flexibility of the storage unit. This was the first step in allowing most people to transfer bits of data between unconnected computers.

The first networking card was created in 1973, allowing data transfer between connected computers. This is similar to the Internet, but allows for the computers to connect without use of the Internet.

Household PC's Emerge

The next three years were very important for computers. This is when companies began to develop systems for the average consumer. The Scelbi, Mark-8 Altair, IBM 5100, Apple I and II, TRS-80, and the Commodore Pet computers were the forerunners in this area. While expensive, these machines started the trend for computers within common households.

One of the most major breathroughs in computer software occurred in 1978 with the release of the VisiCalc Spreadsheet program. All development costs were paid for within a two week period of time, which makes this one of the most successful programs in computer history.

1979 was perhaps one of the most important years for the home computer user. This is the year that WordStar, the first word processing program, was released to the public for sale. This drastically altered the usefulness of computers for the everyday user.

The IBM Home computer quickly helped revolutionize the consumer market in 1981, as it was affordable for home owners and standard consumers. 1981 also saw the the mega-giant Microsoft enter the scene with the MS-DOS operating system. This operating system utterly changed computing forever, as it was easy enough for everyone to learn.

The Competition Begins : Apple vs. Microsoft

Computers saw yet another vital change during the year of 1983. The Apple Lisa computer was the first with a graphical user interface, or a GUI. Most modern programs contain a GUI, which allows them to be easy to use and pleasing for the eyes. This marked the beginning of the out dating of most text based only programs.

Beyond this point in computer history, many changes and alterations have occurred, from the Apple-Microsoft wars, to the developing of microcomputers and a variety of computer breakthroughs that have become an accepted part of our daily lives. Without the initial first steps of computer history, none of this would have been possible.

Best and Worst Video Games

They're Not Called "Killer Apps" For Nothin'

MediaWise is an excellent resource for keeping tabs on the trends and conditions of video and technology aimed at young people. And they've recently published a 10-year assessment of the game industry (online and personal products), concluding that progress not withstanding, "killer apps" (the most popular software in a given category) still tend towards the violent and ugly aspects of life.

Nevertheless, they do remain optimistic that things are changing. And in particular they are pleased that an international rating system is moving the game industry closer to an understanding of the impact these products actually have on the thinking and behavior of our young (and increasingly older) players.

Recommended Video Games for Kids

In addition to their assessment of the decade, they also published their 2005 Video Game Report Card. In that, they identify the Good and the Bad of gaming options, using their standards about the social and learning value. MediaWise recommends the following games for children and teens

  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (E 10+)
  • The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer (E 10+)
  • Peter Jackson's King Kong (T)
  • Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (E)
  • The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe (T)
  • Sly 3: Honor Amongst Thieves (E 10+)
  • We Love Katamari (E)
  • Sid Meier's Pirates! (E)
  • Dance Dance Revolution ULTRAMIX3 (E 10+)
  • Backyard Baseball 2005 (E)
  • On the serious Gamer's side of the story, a website called GameSpot has posted its year-end assessment of downloads or actually played games. They have a wide range of "Best of" categories under such interesting titles as:

  • Best Original Music
  • Most Surprisingly Good
  • Best Story
  • Best Voice Acting
  • Best Creative License
  • Best Use of Sweat
  • "Danger, Warning!

Obviously, Gamers take this stuff seriously when it comes to fun and artistic expression. But interestingly, GameSpot's 2005 popular play list somewhat mirrors the "Parent Alert" warnings provided by MediaWise. Most of the popular games from GameSpot are rated Mature with warnings on the store packaging or Web portals. Their list includes:

  • Civilization IV
  • Ninja Gaiden Black
  • Resident Evil 4
  • Battlefield 2
  • Mario Kant DS
  • Fifa 06
  • Need for Speed
  • Grand Theft Auto
  • FEAR
  • Food Fight!

Interestingly, a game of remarkable popularity called Food-Force.com was released and enhanced over the last year by the United Nations. It simulates the experience of the player being part of a collaborative team of experts who come together on a dangerous adventure to feed the hungry and malnourished in a fictional nation. As the players go through this adventure, they learn fascinating facts about the true issues of food policies and practices worldwide.

Perhaps it says something that while this online game received little marketing attention (and was not even reviewed by MediaWise), some 2 million people downloaded the game in its first six months. By comparison, the top games of GameSpot seldom exceeded 50,000 downloads.
